I am home.
And absolutely nothing has changed.. well no, there is a new gym where the movie store used to be and there is mounds of snow on the ground, but the important stuff, the people, they haven't changed at all. This did, however, reassure me on what I already knew. Vernon is not the place for me. Not right now anyway. Don't get me wrong, this will always be home and I love the people I have grown up with here, but I am not nearly finished travelling. Maybe one day I will go to school somewhere, maybe not, and I've struggled a bit with this thought, but right now I'm okay with it. Maybe I will end up settling down in Vernon years down the road, with a career and family, maybe I will never stop exploring our world, maybe I will die tomorrow, who knows. All we can really do is what makes us happy in that moment. Right now I have aspirations to become employed in the dive industry within the next year and hope this will give me more opportunity to travel and experience yet a new culture, but even if we have a plan we can never really be sure how it will unfold into our lives.
That's the beauty of it.
The world spins madly on.

Where You Go?
After a ridiculously overcrowded and wet morning ferry to Phi Phi Island I spent the first part of my day relaxing on the beautiful beach. I was a little dissapointed to see that this area had been even more dominated by tourism than Phuket, which I didn't think was possible... It's a bit of a shame to see such a gorgeous piece of nature taken over like that. However, I didn't have long to stew over this notion because at 3:30 I was back on a ferry and on my way to Ao Nang. We arrived early in the evening and I got a taxi to my hostel in Krabi Town about ten minutes away. Pak-Up Hostel is incredible. Luxury for 150 baht. I would easily pay that for the shower alone. They are brand new but I really wish them the best and am sure they will do well. The staff is super friendly and helped me book a bus ticket to Bangkok. I leave late this afternoon and will arrive early tomorrow morning. After that was sorted out I headed out for some dinner and a bit of exploring. There was a market that I believe was put on for the New Year so I spent some time walking up and down the various stalls and appreciating the less touristy atmosphere. Well I am off for a bit more exploration of Krabi Town, then it's time to see what Bangkok has in store!

Happy New Year!!
My New Years was spent with five lovely New Zealand folks I met in my dorm here in Karon. We headed to Patong knowing that was clearly where the party would be. We were right. The countdown was spent on the beach accompanied by endless fireworks and celebration. The rest the night was spent wandering the streets and various clubs/bars. I managed to get about an hour sleep the next morning before heading out again and heading to my beloved pool to spend my last day in Phuket. I'm gunna miss it here!
Tomorrow I head out bright and early on a ferry over to Ko Phi Phi then in the afternoon on to Krabi where I will spend the night.
Also, today I realized my hair has gotton ridiculously long. Time for dreads?
