one, two... four

  1. Another week at the treehouses has passed by way too quickly.

Not only more grass cutting, elephant bathing, and delicious thai food, we also hit up the Long Necks, spent a night in a rustic hill tribe village (trying not to burn down the hut by candle light), drank Chang and chocolate at our treehouse and escaped to the luxurious spa resort down the street in our slightly "scented" elephant attire to enjoy a high class lunch by the pool. I absolutely love every minute of it here.

Back in Chiang Mai we sent off a couple of the volunteers with some hearty shots of thai whiskey for their last night before wandering the city. Saturday some of us went up to Doi Suthep, a massive temple overlooking Chiang Mai, then in the evening went to watch as two of the volunteers got thai bamboo tattoos... Im thinkin' about it..

Oh yeah, and we also indulged in the most delicious turkish pizza ever created.

This morning we woke up before 6:00am to head downtown to watch the Alm offering where over 12,000 monks gather from all over Chiang Mai once a year to collect food to share amongst Thailand. It was amazing to see, and a couple of women were kind enough to share their offerings with us and told us about the event as we gave the food to the monks.

Well hope all is well with you, and I'll send a little sunshine your way!
